Erie Federal Credit Union

Financial Literacy Partnership Program
The Erie Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce it’s Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania (Erie Region Office), United Way, and Penn State Erie, the Behrend College, in a
financial literacy project that actively involves 6,000 students in 65 schools, and families within the Erie community. This partnership is ideal, since each organization shares the common goal of educating and encouraging area students and families to make smart decisions for investing, saving and managing money for a successful financial future as well as continuing their education.
The Erie Federal Credit Union’s participation in this program was sponsored, in part, by a $10,000 Grant provided by the Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation. The Erie Federal Credit Union employees will also serve as guest speakers to classrooms and after school programs to bring hands-on financial literacy education to teachers, students and parents.
In addition, the Erie Federal Credit Union has contributed $5,000 to Junior Achievement of Erie County as a local sponsor of Junior Achievement Presents: The NEFE High School Financial Planning Program. The overall goal of the Junior Achievement/NEFE (National Endowment for Financial
Education) alliance is to provide high school students with a solid and practical understanding of basic financial literacy concepts. It will also give students hands-on experience in financial planning with guidance from volunteers from the Erie Federal Credit Union.
